David Foster, MLS, EMT-P

Regional EMS Program Director

Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma

Department of Public Health

 

The Region 1 EMS Program Director is in charge of the operation of the regional EMS office. His program director job involves licensing and regulation of all personnel, training courses, services and vehicles in the region. He also investigates complaints and infractions of laws, rules and regulations

 

 

David has been involved with EMS since1976 and has a masterís degree in organizational leadership.  His EMS career includes employment in fire and EMS agencies in northwest Georgia area.  He was formerly employed as the DTAE Field Training Officer for North Georgia and the Training Officer for Region 4 EMS. He is an EMS instructor trainer and has been involved in many of the EMS Instructor courses in Georgia.

 

 

 

Jordan Pierson, BS, EMT-P

Regional EMS Training Coordinator

Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma

Department of Public Health

 

Jordan is an EMT-Paramedic and works for the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma.

 

Jordan has worked as a paramedic/firefighter level 2 at Paulding County Fire Department and was employed as a captain at Floyd Medical Center EMS where he also served as a community paramedic. He was a level 2 instructor at Faithful Guardian Training Center and serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Georgia EMS Systems Inc.

 

His job description includes oversight of initial and continuing education, community paramedic programs and GEMSIS programs in Georgia EMS Region 1.

 

 

 

 

Carlton Firestone, EMT-P, EMHP

EMS Council  Chair

 

 

Carlton Firestone is a Georgia licensed paramedic and completed the UMBC CCEMTP training in 2003 and is employed with Ambucare EMS as Captain. He is responsible for overseeing all training and education as well as employee certifications. Carlton is also the Commander of TEAM 4 of the Northwest Georgia EMS Disaster Assistance Response Taskforce. A member of the Region C Healthcare Coalition Executive Team and has achieved the EMHP certification through the Department of Public Health.

 

 His duties are conduct meeting, create committees and assign duties to council members.

 

 

Will Pitt, EMT-P

EMS Council  Vice Chair

 

 

Will Pitt works as a paramedic and operations officer for Puckett EMS in Walker County, Georgia and worked for Walker County Fire and EMS.

His duties are conduct meeting, create committees and assign duties to council members in the absence of the chair.

 

 

 

 

Randy Pierson, EMT-P

Chair Northwest Georgia EMS Systems Inc.

 

Randy Pierson is a Georgia licensed paramedic and EMS educator currently working for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services. He previously worked for Floyd Medical Center EMS.

 

Randy Pierson is the chair of the Northwest Georgia EMS Systems Inc. (501C3) and conducts meetings, creates committees and assigns duties to the members of the Board of Directors.

Rick Cobb EMT-P
Vice Chair Northwest Georgia EMS Systems Inc.

Rick Cobb is a Georgia licensed paramedic and works for Floyd Medical Center EMS in Rome. He previously was the Director of Whitfield County EMS and worked for Murray County EMS in Chatsworth, GA. He was a military medic in the Vietnam War on helicopter transports.

The vice chair of the Northwest Georgia EMS Systems Inc. (501C3) and conducts meetings, creates committees and assigns duties to the members of the Board of Directors in the absence of the chairman.

Jaina Carnes R.N.
Chair RTAC

 

 Jaina is a Registered Nurse and works at Redmond Regional Medical Center as the Trauma Program Coordinator.

 

 

The RTAC Chair will preside at all RTAC meetings. The chair will set the meeting agenda and facilitate meeting discussion. She also serves as a voting member on the Northwest Georgia Region 1 EMS Council.

 

Scott Stephens, EMT-P
EMS-C Chair

Scott works as a paramedic and is the chairman of the Georgia Region 1 EMS-C program which is Emergency Medical Services for Children. He chairs the regional EMS-C meetings and serves as the Georgia Region 1 EMS representative on the Georgia EMS-C Council. He also serves as a voting member on the Northwest Georgia Region 1 EMS Council.

 

Scott Lewis, EMT-P
RTAC Coordinator

 

Scott has worked as a paramedic for Hamilton Medical Center EMS, Hamilton County EMS, Hutcheson Medical Center EMS, Puckett EMS and Walker County Fire and EMS. He is an adjunct instructor for Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Scott is now in charge of the Stop-The-Bleed Program for EMS Region 1.

 

 

The RTAC Coordinator will serve as the point person and secretary. They will call the role and determine if a quorum is present. They will maintain all minutes of the meetings and distribute to the general membership. They will review and maintain copies of all organizational correspondence and assist in the dissemination of information to the general membership. They will also serve with the Chair and Vice Chair to collaborate with all stakeholders to manage and carry the plan forward.

Ron Buchheit, M.D.

EMS Regional Medical Director

 

Dr. Ron Buchheit is an emergency medicine physician in Chattanooga, Tennessee and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Erlanger Medical Center and University of Tennessee Medical Center. He received his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and has been in practice between 6-10 years. He is one of 13 doctors at Erlanger Medical Center and one of 69 at University of Tennessee Medical Center who specialize in Emergency Medicine.

Patrick Lynn, M.D.

Assistant Regional EMS Medical Director

 

 

Dr. Lynn graduated from the University of Florida School of Medicine in 2012. He attended the Floyd Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program and was named the 2014 Resident of the Year. He has been in practice for 6 years and currently works at the Floyd Medical Center Family Practice Center in Rome, GA.

 

David Loftin, BA, EMT-P

Webmaster

Secretary/Treasurer of Northwest Georgia EMS Systems Inc. (501C3)

 

David was the former Region 1 EMS Program Director and has agreed to maintain the website during his retirement for Region 1 EMS. David has more than 40 years of EMS and Rescue experience. He is a current Georgia Paramedic and former Paramedic Instructor but does not actively practice since his retirement.
