Region
I EMS is part of the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of
Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical
Services.
Our
primary responsibility is to oversee ambulance and medical first
responder operations in Northwest Georgia. We are also responsible
for licensing ambulance services, making recommendations for primary
response zones (i.e., 911 and government agency primary responders),
coordinating EMT and paramedic schools, and monitoring/coordinating
continuing education for the EMT's, cardiac technicians, and paramedics
who serve within our 16-county region.
